Honey & Hemp Shampoo Bar

This moisturising shampoo bar has a silky lather and is excellent for moisturising hair and skin!

  • In a stainless steel or heat proof plastic container, add the distilled water and carefully add the lye. Stir with a heavy duty rubber or silicone spatula until dissolved. (Do this in the kitchen sink to avoid spillage). Leave to cool.

  • Add the oils to an enamel or stainless steel pot dedicated to soap making, place over a low burner and heat them up to around 90 - 110 degrees.

  • Once your lye and oils are around the same temperature, pour the lye into the oils and use an immersion stick blender to mix.

  • When the mixture begins to thicken, add the jojoba oil and honey and once incorporated carefully pour into soap moulds. Leave for 24 - 48 hours then unmould and slice into bars.

  • Leave the bars to cure in the open air for 4 - 6 weeks.

Always wear gloves, eye protection etc.
